Department of Medicine (DoM)

Alameda Health System’s Department of Medicine (DoM) spans three acute care sites with 18 divisions. We provide care to Alameda County’s most vulnerable patients in the largest ambulatory adult medicine clinic in the county. The DoM also leads the largest residency program at Alameda Health System. Established in 1955, this program has trained many physicians who provide care throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

The challenges health care providers have faced in recent years highlight the importance of wellness support for the DoM’s providers, faculty, and residents. The Bay Area’s diverse population underscores the need for providers to undergo training in diversity, equity, and inclusion. This advances Alameda Health System’s vision of eliminating the severe health disparities its patient population experiences. To ensure that the residency program remains highly competitive, the DoM continues to adopt best practices so that residents can continue providing top quality care to an ever-changing population.

To meet these needs, the DoM created the Fund for Faculty and Resident Development and Wellbeing. We invite you to give to the Fund. Your generous donation will help support:

  • Resident and Faculty wellness programs
  • Faculty development and training in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and other key areas
  • Recruitment and retention of a diverse, mission-driven faculty

We thank you for your generosity.
