The Alameda Health System Foundation Associate Board held a cocktail party and epicurean experience to improve the health of our community. The inaugural event—Bon Appétit!—took place Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Impact Hub in Oakland, CA from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Designed with the young professional in mind, the guests attended a fun-filled and food-inspired celebration that featured small bites and samplings from local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and more.
Proceeds from the event went to the Healthy Eating for Good Health program at Hayward Wellness, a member of Alameda Health System. Promoting nutrition and physical activity, the program offers group visits to low-income families that help participants set health goals, learn how to prepare healthy meals, and gain access to fresh produce. Healthy Eating for Good Health was developed with support from the Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Program in Southern Alameda County.
